    Common questions

    Stucco typically holds seven to ten years, wood siding and trim five to seven. Exposure matters more than the calendar: a south or west elevation taking full afternoon sun will often be a full coat ahead of the rest of the building in wear, and can be recoated on its own.

    We work to the surface temperature and dew point on the manufacturer's data sheet, not to the forecast. That usually means stopping when a wall is above roughly 90°F, when the temperature will drop below about 50°F overnight, or when rain is due within the recoat window.

    Hairline cracking, yes — an elastomeric coating bridges it and stays flexible as the wall moves. Cracks wider than about 1/8 inch are patched first, and anything structural needs to be diagnosed before we coat over it, because paint over a moving crack will simply reopen.

    Our five-year warranty covers workmanship — peeling, blistering, flaking or cracking that traces back to how the coating was applied or prepared. It does not cover damage from structural movement, water intrusion from a failed roof or window, or physical damage. We put the scope in writing on the estimate so there is nothing to argue about later.
